WHAT TO WEAR: Tailgating

Happy football season, Fashionistas/os! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, and not just because it’s my birthday season. Fall is the best for so many reasons. Chilly weather, apple cider (or Pumpkin Spice Lattes for my Starbucks loving readers out there), Halloween, Thanksgiving and most importantly, football games.

Growing up in Nebraska, where Husker football is of NFL caliber, and now living in Wisconsin as a die-hard Packers fan, I have always been a part of strong, loyal fan bases with awesome teams to support. Now, I’m not going to lie, Clemson’s football team was definitely high on my list of reasons for wanting to come here. One of the first things I noticed while at my first game a couple weeks ago, was the amount of spirit everyone had. This is a community who really loves their football team. I have never, nor will ever see anywhere else, that much orange in one place. I knew right away that I made the right choice in wearing this dress to that game!

Here in the South, gameday style is spirited, but done in a very classy, dressed up way. This Fashionisto is wearing a perfectly orange button-down shirt from Brooks Brothers. This shirt is great for games because it is made out of a breathable linen so that even in the Carolina heat he can still enjoy the game! He paired his shirt with classic khaki shorts and some comfortable sandals that pull the whole look together. With a self-described “laid back preppy” style, this Fashionisto nailed his gameday look!

When going to any school sporting events, it is so much fun to show off your school spirit by wearing your school colors. My closet is full of orange and purple rompers, dresses and skirts which are all perfect to wear to any tailgate and game.

One Simple Change: Boys, switch up the button-down with a polo for when it’s too hot or for when you just want a preppier look for class.
