WHAT TO WEAR: Tailgating

PSA: There are only 90 days until kick off for the Iowa football season—but who’s counting? That being said the search for the perfect tailgating outfit has officially begun. When the historic Kinnick Stadium holds over 70,000 people it’s important to find the perfect ensemble to stand out. Let’s check out this week’s Fashionista whose game day look is ready to go.

When football games always seem to be scheduled on the hottest days of the year, your best bet is a tank top like this one. Cute and simple and still repping the Hawkeyes. Complete the look with a very popular trend right now, bralettes, which are comfy and stylish. What more could you ask for? This Fashionista kept it simple and paired a black bralette under the tank so it peeks out just a tad, adding some girly flare.

Pair that with some cute jean shorts; these have some cute lace detailing to them too. And even though she wont be wearing it, a black and gold flannel makes a great accessory when it’s tied around the waist. Speaking of the waistline, is it really tailgating if you don’t have a fanny pack? Its practical and fashionable. You can hold onto your phone, keys and perhaps some snacks!

Tailgating can get pretty messy and Iowa football doesn’t stop when the weather gets bad. So, its important to have shoes that wont destroy your feet and high tops are always a good idea, but add some more black and gold with some rad socks underneath.

Last but not least, when you’re out tailgating all day it’s a good idea to have some sunglasses. And if we didn’t have enough Iowa spirit already, this Fashionista wears those black and gold glasses with pride.

One Simple Change: Obviously you’re going to want to go out with the girls after a Hawkeye victory. So ditch the flannel and fanny pack, add an oversized cardigan. Switch the converse for sandals and you’re ready for GNO.
