WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

June 10th, 2015 at 2:00am

In order to get in the right state of mind for this post, “Summer Nights” by Rascal Flatts will be played on repeat the entire time. If you have not heard this wonderful summer anthem, well, I feel sorry for you.

Summer is that time of year where college students everywhere can finally enjoy three months of blissful relaxation, crazy festivals, lake parties and road-trips that usually end up becoming Instagrams top headliners. And what better way to express your fashion choices than through activities you know are going to create memories that’ll last a lifetime.

For me, this season is all about the “festival”. It’s like every store I walk into there’s something festival related. A part of me believes thats why the seventies became such a huge trend this year in the fashion industry; because nothing screams Lollapalooza more than flower headbands, patchwork denim and crocheted tops.

This Fashionista knew exactly how to trend her summer festival style with just the right amount of pattern, color and palazzo. The pants gave out a boho-chic vibe, and the beige top came together nicely with the blue, orange and green pattern on the pants. The shoes were what topped it all. This season, cut-out heeled shoes are all the rage and I love how easily dressed-up and laid back these shoes can be worn. This Fashionista paired her festival, boho inspired ensemble nicely, almost like she was attending a festival herself.

Summer is a great season to express not only your individual style, but to grow in culture, fashion and yourself as well. Take risks, try something new from your favorite restaurant, travel as much as you can, and go ahead and buy that elephant printed romper—it looks adorable on you and who knows, maybe you’ll wear it to the next festival that comes your way!

One Simple Change: Sun is usually a big issue during the summer. If you’re worried about the extreme heat, but still want to look darling in your festival wear, a large sunhat can do the trick. You’ll still look mighty adorable while protecting your face from the harmful rays!
