WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Now, I don’t know about the weather back in New York, but what I do know is that the weather here in Cyprus, where I currently am,  is hot, hot, hot. As an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, it should come as no surprise that the sun keeps shining brighter and the days keep getting warmer and more pleasant. From one day to the next, I find myself in a place that’s the polar opposite of New York—both in terms of the weather and of style. So, what does this mean? For me, picking out outfits that are more summery and more relaxed seems a little tricky and ultimately, I constantly find myself looking around for all types of inspiration that will help me create my own personal summer style.

I’ve noticed that people here tend to go for simple prints and designs, flowy silhouettes and light colors that make their outfits appropriate for the insanely warm weather. Their style makes them scream comfort and adds a different type of elegance that is in no way similar to that of New York’s (truth be told, it’s actually a bit refreshing). Outfits that are comfy, light and easy-going are key for summers here, so I also always try to find ways to incorporate these elements in my outfits so I can create summer looks that are inspired by both New York and Cyprus.

This Fashionisto’s outfit is on point. It’s easy to see that he’s definitely rocking the perfect summer outfit, as he’s keeping it simple, relaxed, preppy and above all, appropriate for the heat. He’s wearing a pair of beige cargo shorts and a baby pink Tommy Hilfiger Polo shirt that he’s combined with a great pair of beige and white nautical-inspired Ralph Lauren sneakers. His beautiful watch ties the outfit together and undoubtedly adds that extra detail that all outfits need. What better than an outfit like this during the summer? Nothing—I agree.

One Simple Change: Weather just got a little cooler while you’re getting ready for a night out? Relax. All you have to do is put on a simple cardigan that matches the rest of the outfit and voila, you’re all set.
