WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Summer: The one season that any college-dazed student looks forward to. With school coming to a close and sunny days drawing near, summer is all about relaxing, hanging out with your closest friends and not having to worry about homework. It also means that tank tops and shorts are back in season! However, if you’re from Portland like me, then you know that even in the summer, it still rains.

This week, it was a cloudy summer day in Portland, but the bad weather didn’t stop this Fashionista from looking her best! This Fashionista is ready for summer, as she rocks a pair of dark skinny jeans. As much as we can appreciate a good pair of wide-leg pants, our obsession with skinny jeans isn’t going anywhere this summer. Her skinny jeans are perfect for everyday wear and are extremely versatile for the summer. The cuffs on her jeans add another dimension to her look, making her jeans look fun and trendy.

The Fashionista didn’t stop there, as she also wore a multi-colored paisley tank top and a gray cardigan. The bright hues of neon pink and turquoise add a pop of color, while the different patterns of lines and shapes bring depth to her outfit. Tank tops are great for the summer because they keep you feeling cool. However, since Portland weather can be unpredictable, her cardigan was the perfect choice for this gloomy summer day.

As enchanting as they are, sky-high heels aren’t the most practical option when it comes to footwear, especially when the summer weather warms up and walking is our preferred method of transport. This Fashionista does summer shoes justice, as she finalizes her look wearing black espadrille sandals. Comfortable and chic, they complete her outfit while also adding height to her legs.

One Simple Change: Even though it’s the beginning of summer in Portland, the weather is bound to rise in the next few weeks. If the weather gets too hot, swap out the jeans for shorts and take off the cardigan. It will make you feel much cooler, while also giving you a chance to tan!
