WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Just like Demi says in her hit song, we are definitely cool for the summer! Beaches, strawberry tropical smoothies and playing in the sun ’til we can’t anymore is definitely on our to-do lists. What’s also on everyone’s to-do lists? A functional, comfortable and trendy summer outfit. As someone who lives in a place that is always hot, I know how hard it can be to dress up for some fire-burning weather. However, it is not impossible! If you have a basic T-shirt, distressed jeans and some cute sandals, then you are good to go.

This Fashionista knows how to keep it simple but still trendy in her summer outfit. Basic T-shirts are a piece that will never go out of style. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that they can be paired with almost anything. Whether it’s a leather or denim jacket or a skirt and jeans, the basic T-shirt is a go-to item. It’s also perfect for the summer because it’s lightweight, easy to throw on, and it won’t have you suffocating throughout the day. Also, if you’re a proud owner of the halter bra and own all the colors, they are the perfect extra detail to add under. It’s fun, flirty and complements the summer vibe.

This Fashionista is also fashion savvy enough to know that a good pair of distressed denim can be best friends with any basic T-shirt. The distressed factor on the knees of the jeans is an awesome way to stay fresh and cool. Since her denim is distressed, there’s room for a little air and there’s less restraint on her legs. This gives her the ability to walk freely, whether she’s on campus, along the beach, out for brunch or just chilling in the hot summer sun. As for shoes, this Fashionista decided to ditch the sneakers and boots for something more functional like a pair of brown sandals. They will be easy for her to walk in, and she’ll be cute and trendy.

So for those of you who are enjoying the summer, make sure to do it in style!

One Simple Change: If you’re going on a date night, you can add a leather jacket as a layer and ditch the sandals for some ankle boots.
