WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Summer is the time of year to pull out those traditional sundresses we wear year-after-year. Thankfully, we have found a way to rock two different pieces on hot summer days. We are opting for the very unique two-piece look; whether it was meant to be together or not, you can mix and match and play with this fun style.

When I first saw this Fashionista, I was really into her play on the traditional and edgy styles. She had put together pieces that weren’t meant to be together but looked like they were made for each other. Her look was just one of the many unique two-piece looks I have seen this summer. She said she loved to wear crops tops with patterned shorts or skirts because she can constantly change up the look. Her outfit was perfect for summer.

She started her outfit off with a fitted halter graphic crop top and white bralette. She then paired it with a fun and colorful geometric skirt. Her accessories include a Chanel look-alike, quilted cross-body bag and a simple long gold necklace to add detail to her look. For her shoes she wore everyone’s summer must-have: strappy sandals These shoes go with almost every outfit, especially with a dress or a skirt. Her entire outfit makes a fun, youthful statement with all the things that are popular this summer. Her look also sported fashion’s favorite color, black.

When I asked this Fashionista where she was going, she said she was going out on the town to meet some of her Elon University friends and go shopping. She said that she loves to be comfortable and trendy since she was planning on doing a lot of walking. The halter crop top was her go-to choice for the warm summer weather, and the skirt was breezy and easy to wear when walking. She said she loves wearing two-piece looks when shopping because it is easier for her changing in and out of clothes. She also prefers small cross-body bags because they are out of the way and leave her arms free for looking at items.

One Simple Change: Done shopping with the girls on a hot summer day and ready to hit the clubs? Ready to change up your style for the night? Change your black strappy sandals with some black shoes that give you a bit of height. Some simple heels or wedges will do the job, and you will be ready to dance the night away.
