Temperatures have been dropping like crazy here in Toronto, and Ryerson students have had to start bringing out the heavier coats and winter accessories. For those chilly days on campus, a warm coat and scarf are the necessities to get you from point A to point B—whether you’re between classes, going out for lunch or on your way to a study group. However, even if you’re just going for a group meeting, that doesn’t mean you can show up looking like a slob.
We all have those days when we are dreading those group project meetings or study groups. But since you’ll be in the presence of other people (rather than alone in a library cubicle), you might as well put some effort into your appearance. Your fellow students are your future networks, so keep that in mind. You should always want to make a positive impression, no matter the situation.
I spotted this Fashionista in an outfit that would be great for those study group days. She looks presentable and she shows her personal style. I like how she kept the whole ensemble very monochromatic, including her accessories, but added a pop of color with her boots. I love the maroon color and velvet texture that they bring to the outfit. Her coat also stood out because of its gray and white pattern and oversized fit. Her black scarf and satchel are classic and versatile pieces that you should always have in your wardrobe.
One Simple Change: Take this look from day to night by switching the pencil skirt with one of a different style, maybe an A-line for a fun silhouette. Then, you can trade the flat boots for a pair of heels or wedges and add a sleek clutch to finish it off.
