Fall is in full swing here at Appalachian State. While I am beyond excited for oversized sweaters and warm scarves, down south we have a bit of a transitional problem for a few weeks. It may feel like fall in the morning, but by lunchtime your sweater will have you melting and your scarf will feel like it is suffocating you. This is the prime time to work a few summer pieces into your fall wardrobe to keep you looking and feeling cool.
I spotted this Fashionista on a fall morning on Sanford Mall studying with friends. The high for the day was 73 degrees, however the cool morning air hadn’t left yet. With such a wide range for the day, this Fashionista used her head and dressed in a way that will work all day and still looks appropriate for October. This look also gets extra points for keeping her comfy while studying.
The base of this outfit is a great pair of leggings. I am a huge fan of leggings and will find any and every occasion to wear them and truly believe they are one of the most versatile basics around. They are also great for chilly weather but won’t weigh you down when it becomes a little warmer.
The leggings are balanced beautifully with her flowy top from Forever 21. This top is a great example of a piece that can easily be transitioned from summer to fall. The warm coral hue works well with other fall tones and blends in with the season. She adds to her look with a mint statement necklace, another color that can easily transition into cooler weather. She also adds a cream watch and a monogram ring. Her cowgirl boots top off the look and keep it fall appropriate.
One Simple Change: This look could easily work for date night. Switch in flats for the boots and throw on a cardigan to ward off cold nights, and you’re ready to go!
