Most of my study group sessions involve a bunch of my friends huddled around a set of notes, trying to make sense of what we have to read. We churn out ideas and shoot out questions left and right, trying to make something amazing out of nothing–hopefully we get a sought-after HD in the process!
When you think about it, band practice is a lot like your typical study group. A group of friends who bounce ideas off each other, ask each other’s opinions on what lyrics sound good and try to make amazing music out of nothing.
When I found this Fashionisto, he was on his way to his band’s jam session; his bass guitar was strapped across his back. I loved how his patterned shirt gave his outfit a hipster-grandfather vibe. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were on to something when they sung, “Ask your grandpa, can I have his hand-me-downs!” It’s great to see a Fashionisto who embraces a vintage style. Whether you’re studying a book or sheet music, a vintage piece will never lead a study group outfit astray.
Although this Fashionisto’s shirt had a–loud–print all over it, his pair of brown corduroy pants and shoes toned down this print because they were all in the same colour family. A great tip for Fashionistos, dressing for their study group session, is to play with prints that ultimately liven up their look. If you want to introduce patterns into your wardrobe, yet you want to start off slow, follow a colour scheme when you put together an outfit. A collared shirt is a great option for Fashionistos who are unsure of what to wear in the morning. Collared shirts can be worn with almost any bottom, and they will always look smart and polished.
When I went to take a photo of this Fashionisto’s pair of loafers, I remembered being curious as to why there was a penny in his shoe. He explained to me that his shoes were penny loafers, and they would bring him good luck if he tucked a penny in them. That sounds like a fashionable study tip, if I ever heard one! I would slip a penny in both shoes before every big assessment day, if that meant that good-luck fairies paid me a visit.
One Simple Change: If this Fashionisto swapped out his collared shirt for a block coloured T-shirt–with an illustration on the front–like this T-shirt from T-Bar, his outfit would be perfect for a casual day out with friends.
