Summer is flying by and that means so are summer classes. With finals approaching, we recall the suggestion our teachers made at the beginning of the semester, (many with a false sense of hope), to form study groups and help each other out. While branching out can be difficult, I am a big fan of group study sessions. Not only do they help you learn the material and confirm your personal knowledge through helping a peer gain understanding, you never know who you might meet. In big lecture halls, it’s hard to meet people or get to know your classmates. By getting together in a more intimate setting, you are able to form relationships that can go well past finals week. This Fashionista shows us how to dress to impress when you head off to study with your classmates.
To be ready for the long hours in the library group study rooms, opt for an outfit that can pull an all-nighter. On top, this Fashionista sticks with a classic basic tank top, allowing the focus to be on the bohemian maxi skirt. Maxi skirts are a great alternative to sloppy sweatpants or uncomfortable skinny jeans; they allow for movement while looking effortlessly put together. To complement the skirt, choose one focal accessory. This Fashionista chooses a turquoise bangle.
Because you never know if Norlin will be an arctic tundra or Death Valley, layering is always a good idea. To be safe, pull on a neutral cardigan. To finish the look, slip on some comfortable flip flops because if you are anything like me, you slide out of your shoes and tuck your knees up the second you sit down to study. You never know who you might meet in study group, so be sure your are on your game both with your studies and your style.
One Simple Change: Grab a floppy hat and swap the warm cardigan for a lace kimono and you are ready for whatever the weekend has in store. Weekend wear is all about being casual and ready for anything. The breezy skirt and delicate lace look put together but still relaxed. Also, what says perfectly unexpected like a great floppy hat? Take a break enjoy a lazy Saturday at the park after your long study session. Trust me, by this point in summer session, you definitely deserve a lazy weekend.
