WHAT TO WEAR: Study Group

What to Wear

With less than a month left of school, the pressure is starting to pile on us from every direction. Finals are in only a few weeks, huge project deadlines are looming, and the big question of what we’re doing over the summer is more imminent than ever before. With all the stress comes many long, busy days and even more sleepless nights, which often understandably prompts college students to succumb to a permanent uniform of leggings and oversized T-shirts. But though this is certainly an easy solution, it is not the only one.

I caught up with this Fashionista on her way to class, and couldn’t help but notice that her outfit was perfect for more occasion than one. Namely, a study group. Because the library often becomes home during this last month of school, comfort is key. But while we often study alone with no one to see what we’re wearing, studying in a group changes the situation a bit. Looking like a slob could give off more than just the impression that you don’t care about your clothes, so it’s important to look put together while still maintaining a level of comfort that will last you through hours of studying.

Maxi dresses are becoming a prominent trend on campus, and it is easy to see why. With the warmer weather, they are airy enough to stay cool and long enough to avoid the consequences of any unexpected gusts of wind. In addition, they are roomy enough to move with ease throughout the day, no matter what the activity. This Fashionista chose a printed maxi dress to add a little excitement to the look and bring an element of spring to her outfit.

While maxi dresses are undeniably fun, it can start to look a little too dressy for certain occasions. This Fashionista avoids this problem by pairing a denim shirt with her ensemble, and tying the look together with a cute but simple black belt. Her flat, strappy sandals are another casual addition to the outfit that make this look perfect for a long night at the library.

One Simple Change: After all that studying is over, swap the denim shirt for a classic leather jacket for the perfect look on a night out with friends.
