While spring break is already in full swing for us IU students, here is a friendly reminder to stay on top of your style wherever you’re at. If you’re lucky enough to be somewhere soaking up the sun, it may be difficult to figure out what to wear since it’s been cold for what seems like forever now. Sometimes all it takes is a look through your wardrobe to dust off those summer clothes and then finding creative, new ways to wear them.
This Fashionista presents a simple, relaxed look that is perfect for walking down a boardwalk or grabbing a bite to eat somewhere. She’s wearing a lightweight floral dress, which is one item you will be so thankful to have on break. This is something that can be worn to the beach, shopping or really anywhere. She paired this with a green military jacket and brown leather sandals. What’s great about these jackets is that they aren’t too heavy that you’d get overheated, but they serve as an amazing cover-up to so many different outfits.
My favorite part about spring break style is that it is so laid back and has a very natural feel to it. This Fashionista’s outfit really caught my eye because it looks effortlessly trendy, beachy and cute. Sometimes leaving all the accessories out of an outfit can make an even bolder statement, especially when you’re around the beach.
It’s important to keep in mind the packing rule when traveling because we always seem to think we need more outfits than we do. This Fashionista provides perfect examples of items that are versatile and can be worn for different occasions. You will be able to get a lot more use out of these essential items and therefore have a lot more extra space in your bag for anything you want to bring back from break!
One Simple Change: If you’re planning on going to brunch earlier in the day, you can switch the military jacket for a light sweater. You can also swap the sandals for a pair of wedges. This will take your look from boho-chic to classy, while still being simple.
