WHAT TO WEAR: Spring Break

What to Wear

As the temperature slowly rises up into the 30’s this weekend, hopefully some college students can finally enjoy a nice spring break; especially the students that are going to be staying in Wisconsin. This week projects were due and students took their midterm exams. As a way to congratulate ourselves for being hardworking students, Mount Mary students get to spend the weekend and all next week sleeping in! Well, at least catching up on sleep from our sleepless nights of studying and homework.

This Fashionista caught my eye with her colorful floral cardigan. It’s perfect for what we all need right now with all this snow, a pop of spring. Florals remain popular and trendy as seasons change, but every spring there is a new growth of florals. This spring, flirty florals are on call from the runway. As seen in Christian Siriano’s spring 2014 collection during Fashion Week.

To add a sweet, girlie vibe to your outfit, throw in a statement jewelry piece like this Fashionista’s long pendant necklace. It adds flair to the outfit making you stick out in the crowd. The necklace can help tone down the print as well as not going over the top and making you look too busy. In addition to the statement necklace, pair it with your favorite blue jeans and a contrasting colored-tank. Since spring break is around the corner, living life at the edge can bring a bit of an amusement after all those projects and exams. Then you’ll definitely have to wear a pair of combat boots.

Spring break isn’t just about having fun, but it’s a way to get away from all the stress and giving you a break from those humongous textbooks.

One Simple Change: Replace the pair of jeans with a nice pair of khaki or white twill pants. On top of that, to keep it chic and casual, switch out the combat boots and put on a pair of nude pumps. You’ll definitely be ready to go out and have a nice brunch date with a friend.
