Spring is finally approaching, and by spring I mean temperatures in the 30’s. But hey, I’ll be happy with anything close to 40 degrees in Happy Valley. Along with the warmer weather, I’ve noticed so many more Fashionista/os around campus. When the sun comes out, so does everyone’s fashion sense. Now that Spring Break is here, everyone can’t wait to sport their newest styles they’ve been dying to show off. Don’t be afraid to be bold and bright like this Fashionista this spring!
Patterned pants are a necessary asset to your closet and one of my favorite trends for this spring. Some people are afraid of wearing crazy patterns but there’s nothing to be scared of! They actually require minimal effort and can be paired with a simple, plain crop top. You can go for a boho look that you could wear on the beach, or a more preppy style like this Fashionista. It’s so refreshing to see bright pinks and greens after a endless winter of gray and blue. Her pants definitely steal the spotlight, so she balances out her outfit by wearing a white sweater. It’s also important to wear a neutral shoe so that you don’t clash with your pants.
A pair of boat shoes is the cherry on top of a preppy outfit. Boat shoes come in every color imaginable and are a great for the transition into spring. It’s not quite warm enough for sandals nor is it cold enough for boots. This Fashionista keeps it simple by wearing a pair of sandy colored Sperry Top-Siders.
One Simple Change: Easter is coming up, so try a pair of sandals instead of boat shoes to make this look a little dressier. These sandals from J.Crew are great because they have a pop of color and the rest is neutral. This is a great shoe for any outfit because the color isn’t too overpowering.
