WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

With almost a full week of rain, “spring showers bring May flowers” has never been so relevant. The cold weather is just about behind us which makes dressing up easier, but then comes the rain. The cold and damp atmosphere may leave you wanting to throw on some sweats and call it a day, but there are ways to stay fashionable in the dreary weather.

This Fashionista is wearing the perfect spring ensemble that will also keep her dry. During this time of year, color is everything. This gradient baby blue sweater is what drew me to this outfit. It’s such a cheery piece that can brighten any cloudy day. She is wearing a gray vest on top that matches her socks which peak out above her boots. Rain boots are an essential for the spring. I myself have black rain boots that can coordinate with any outfit, but you can also opt for a fun pattern or color to change things up. This Fashionista is also wearing a black infinity scarf that matches with her black leggings, rain boots and umbrella. With the whole look being neutral in color the bright sweater really brings this look all together.

For accessories this Fashionista is wearing stackable Alex and Ani and Michael Kors bracelets. The Michael Kors bracelet mixes silver and gold which is a nice change from your typical matching metals. All of these bracelets are great everyday accessories that go with just about any outfit.

One Simple Change:  To put a different spin on this outfit making it acceptable for a presentation, I’d change the color scheme. One may want to get adventurous and go with bold patterned rain boots and an umbrella paired with an all-black ensemble. The bold accessories will be enough to carry the plain black look. While the bold pattern/colored rain boots may seem “out there” the black ensemble is perfect for the sophistication needed while presenting a project in class.
