WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

Although the weather in the Midwest may not feel all that warm yet, spring has officially sprung. I am so excited for the trends that this new season will bring! Floral prints, pastel colors and wedges have already started budding in the outfits of Fashionista’s around campus. With a little spring-cleaning and a few April showers, spring styles will soon be in full bloom.

I absolutely adore this Fashionista’s sweet and feminine spring ensemble. Distressed denim is making a comeback this season and this Fashionista’s outfit shows us why it is making such a statement. If not worn correctly these jeans could come off as sloppy, but when paired with the right pieces they are the staple of a well-polished outfit. This Fashionista wore her pair of denim with a crocheted white tank top worn under a light pink fitted blazer and finished with a pair of super cute wedges. The ensemble as a whole is the perfect blend of girly and edgy!

Some other spring trends that are hitting the runways this year are subtle hints of the ’70s, gingham prints and athletic influences. Don’t be afraid to incorporate these and the other trends into your spring wardrobe this season for a fresh look!

One Simple Change: Spring time also means job and internship searching season. Transform this look into an appropriate and professional interview ensemble by swapping out your jeans for a chic high-wasited pencil skirt. Tuck in the tank top, keep the blazer and trade in the wedges for a pair of closed-toe stilettos. And of course, don’t forget the most important accessory to finish off the outfit—a smile! You will no doubt leave a lasting impression on interviewer in this ultra chic ensemble.
