WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

The freezing Wisconsin weather is finally warming up and Fashionistas everywhere are pulling out their best outfits. Although the weather isn’t warm enough for shorts and crop tops, a parka and UGGs boots simply won’t do either. Finding the perfect balance between a winter and summer look can be tough, but this Fashionista nailed it.

This Fashionista chose a navy button-down, pairing it with a black North Face windbreaker. Windbreakers, jackets and raincoats are the perfect solutions for spring weather. Next, she chose a pair of destroyed light wash denim jeans. Destroyed jeans can look like a nightmare when they’re not worn well, but this Fashionista chose wisely. The pair is cropped at her ankles, while being somewhat loose in the leg area. None of the rips in the jeans are too high up on her legs. Plus, a light wash is the perfect transition into spring.

Lastly, she wore a pair of white tennis shoes to finish her look. An ankle boot would have been too much with the ripped jeans and tall riding boots are out of the question, so tennis shoes are the answer. When jeans are cropped, it’s best to pair them with a shoe that has a low top. In addition, the white of her shoes pairs nicely with the light wash jeans. She created a nice contrast between the light of her shoes and jeans in comparison to her dark top and jacket. In Wisconsin, spring isn’t always about breaking out florals and bright colors, since the weather is so unpredictable. Wisconsin spring style is about balance and showcasing a few spring pieces at a time.

One Simple Change: If the weather gets a little warmer, pair a crop top with an extra-long sweater for a mix of summer and winter vibes.
