WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

Spring can be a tough season to dress for in Pittsburgh. Some days it gets up to 70 degrees outside, while on others it drops to almost 30 degrees. With the rapid changes in weather, it is important to dress accordingly to stay comfortable all day. This Fashionista knows how to dress for the spring weather with a casual preppy look.

This look really caught my attention because of how versatile it is. The Fashionista can wear this look to class, walking around downtown, running some errands, grabbing lunch and even going to a meeting. The navy blue blazer with cuffed sleeves shows the Fashionista’s professional side. When paired with skinny jeans, the outfit becomes more of a day-to-day look. I like how the Fashionista wore a modest white, flower-patterned shirt underneath to keep the look simple. Also, wearing tan suede booties instead of heels allows for comfort while walking from place to place.

When I asked to take a shot of her bracelets, this Fashionista explained to me that each bracelet has special meaning to her. For example, one is an Alex and Ani bracelet with her sorority’s letters on it. Another is a Lokai bracelet that supports the Alzheimer’s Association. It’s awesome how she can make a statement through small details in her look such as bracelets.

This Fashionista completed her look with a pop of pink. Her medium-sized bright pink handbag complements the navy in her blazer. It gives a nice touch of spring to her look without taking away from it.

One Simple Change: Dress up this look for a brunch with some friends by wearing tan or white summer wedges instead of booties. Perfect for the warmer spring days. If it’s really warm, don’t be afraid to ditch the blazer!
