WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

I don’t know about you, but I’m absolutely ecstatic about spring’s arrival. Dressing for spring’s sporadic, sometimes-hot-sometimes-cold weather can be a serious challenge though. Here in Michigan, it’s extra rainy and can be 65 one day and 30 and snowing the next. Nevertheless, it’s always so nice to put away the winter jacket and break out the sundresses. You can bet I’ll be that girl in class wearing sandals the first possible day—even if that means it snowed the week before. The key to surviving this wild weather in style is just like the key to dressing for many other difficult occasions: LAYERING!

I spotted this Fashionista downtown donning an awesome spring outfit. Her white dress is so on trend with its lace-up neckline, and I loved her shoes—they’re perfect for in-between weather. She definitely knew the secret to great layering, considering she had both a camo green anorak and a black leather jacket. A classic leather jacket is super versatile—you can wear it anywhere: from class to a nice night out.

Another interesting note was this Fashionista’s hairstyle. I loved her braid, especially with her light wavy hair. Braids are making a major comeback in every way, and style, this season.

One Simple Change: Ditch the jacket (both!) and the booties, and swap them out for a pair of stylish heeled sandals. With some accessories and a slick hairdo, this look would be perfect for a night out with the family or dinner with friends.
