WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

As the sidewalks begin to thaw and flowers begin to bloom across college campuses, Fashionistas and Fashionistos everywhere are trading in their snow boots for sneakers and winter coats for denim jackets. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year because it means lighter layers and (slightly) warmer days. Spring time is really the only time of the year where you can mix and match your seasonal wardrobes. Most mornings up here in upstate New York start out in the mid 30’s/40’s but reach the mid-60’s by the afternoon. It is imperative to learn how to dress for all kinds of weather in order to avoid changing your outfit three times a day (aka more laundry!)

I spotted this Fashionista on campus because she worked in multiple of the latest spring trends into her outfit effortlessly. Denim, skirts and adidas Superstars have been dominating my Instagram feed over the past couple of weeks. This Fashionista even tied in a turtleneck that made a huge comeback this past fall and winter seasons. Spring is a great time to mix and match seasonal staple pieces for when the weather is in-between. This Fashionista does it exceptionally well.

This Fashionista was on trend and prepared for the weather. By layering her outfit, this Fashionista can easily bundle up with a heavy sweater underneath her jacket or remove the jacket when the temperature warms up.

One Simple Change: To take this look from day to night, stick with this silhouette! Swap out the corduroy skirt for a leather skirt and exchange your sporty sneaks for heels.
