WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

Spring is my favorite season. I love everything about it! Well, except the allergies. Those I could live without. For many a student, the time to recruit for a summer internship takes place in the spring, and it can be difficult to decide what to wear for that occasion, especially if the weather is still fickly. In times like these, I like to look to fashion from my favorite movies for inspiration.

One of my top moments in movie fashion is during the classic comedy, Anchorman, when Will Ferrell’s character rocks an all-blue suit. It’s unique, it’s eye-catching and unforgettable. When choosing an outfit for an interview, regardless of the season, I like to keep these criteria in mind! It’s important that your style reflect not only your professional sense, but your personality as well. When you look your best, you feel your best, and it’s essential to feel confident when heading into an interview type situation.

This Fashionisto has put a modern spin on the classic blue suit. This bright, blue color is perfect not only for spring, but also for when you want to stand out in the recruiting process. The clean lines balance out the shock-factor from the color and make this suit a perfect choice for mixing professional with personality. He paired his rockin’ Egara suit with a subtly patterned light-blue Calvin Klein button-down, light-brown Joseph Abboud belt and the classiest pair of Cole Haan oxfords I have ever seen. It’s important when pulling off a look of this dimension to make sure that you accessorize simply to create a nice contrast. Overall, this look is sure to make a statement and leave a favorable impression!

One Simple Change: Heading to a formal event immediately after crushing the interview? Add a funky bow tie like this one to class up this suit even more. Throw on a pair of ray-bans for added coolness, and you’re dressed for a night to remember!
