WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

March 30th, 2016 at 2:10am

As the winter months come to a close here in New Jersey, students all around campus are beginning to embrace the warmer weather. It’s the time of the year to trade out your heavy sweaters and coats for lighter tops, jackets and accessories.

I love the spring-inspired look that this Fashionista came up with. Blue jeans are always a classic and create an effortless and comfortable look when paired with a basic neutral top. It is still a bit chilly outside, so she paired this with a lightweight blue jacket that goes well with the look. Simple boots assure that she will stay comfortable while walking around campus.

In my opinion, the accessories of this look make it stand out. This Fashionista chose to add a body chain to her outfit to add more detail. The gold plate on the front and the long, draped chains add a touch of shine to her outfit. The most standout accessory of this look is the colorful, striped scarf which adds a pop of color and pulls the look together. Every wardrobe should have a statement piece like this!

Anyone can achieve a look like this! Just put together your favorite basic pieces in your closet and switch it up with some bold accessories!

One Simple Change: You can take this look from day to night with a few simple changes. Switch out the light jacket for a leather one to keep you warmer as the temperature drops and to give your look an edge. Swap your combat boots for heeled booties and put on a bold lipstick to transition into the night. Whether you’re going out to dinner with friends or out for a night on the town, these simple changes will make you ready for wherever the night takes you.
