WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

March 18th, 2015 at 2:00am

Happy spring, CollegeFashionista! Mother Nature has finally answered our prayers and has spared us further snowfall and wind chill. However, now that this winter debacle has passed, we face yet another hurdle—learning to style ourselves for such a transitional season.

This week’s Fashionista has just the right idea: she knows how to perfectly combine wintery and summery pieces to create a flawless transitional ensemble. First, she sports a dark pair of maroon colored jeans, a clear staple in any fall or winter wardrobe. She then throws on a summer-esque, semi-sheer white button-down and twists a light scarf with gold elephant-patterned detailing around her neck in lieu of jewelry. As far as shoes go, she throws on a simple pair of black leather booties. Though leather traditionally stands as a fall staple, the boots’ shorter height works in transitioning her style since it exposes just the right amount of leg from the tip of the shoe to the edge of the pant’s hem.

Our Fashionista knows to limit her accessories due to all of the color blocking that takes place throughout the look. Aside from her scarf, she wears a few delicate silver rings and bangles and polishes her nails with a nude tone. Finally, she wears her hair down, complete with loose beachy waves and a deep side part.

One Simple Change: Have something as formal as an interview coming up? Don’t fret—simply take off the casual scarf and white blouse and swap in a nude lace tank top and black blazer. You’ll look effortlessly chic, business casual and seasonally styled instantly!
