WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

Winter is finally coming to a close (insert cheers here!) and with warmer temperatures drifting in, the weather can be quite unpredictable. One day could be cold and rainy while the next could resemble a summer day. It’s a confusing time! As college students, checking the weather everyday isn’t at the top of our to-do lists. Around this time, we have much more important things on our minds—midterms, projects, etc. Therefore, we wear pieces that will accommodate this odd weather. Transition pieces are key to successfully beating out the unpredictable temperatures.

With a cool girl grunge style, this Fashionista takes this idea to the next level. The black, sleeveless velvet top paired with a light wash denim creates contrast between the two pieces. The key to this look is mixing both spring and winter styles to create the perfect package. The dull gray and green booties as well as the washed out cargo jacket act as end pieces to the look, keeping everything neutral in color and style. A green cargo jacket is the perfect staple for spring. Not only is it practical with the still cool temperature but also gives your outfit that laid back, effortless cool look that you’ll be dying to replicate this spring.

One Simple Change: As March nears to an end, switch out your velvet tunic and booties for a navy striped T-shirt and gold flats. This will freshen up the look, taking it from an ending winter to a blossoming spring look. The green cargo jacket will complement the navy tones in the T-shirt as well as the gold metallic in the flats.
