WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

The recent warm weather has been teasing all of the students at UNL with the promise of summer—and spring break. Although we’re all stoked for the weather change, we run into the problem of brisk mornings and scorching afternoons. I can’t tell you how many times I left my house in a winter coat only to have to lug it around the rest of the day. It’s so annoying.

It all comes down to balance. We need to be strategic when planning our daily outfit. This Fashionisto has pretty much got it all figured out. First of all, let’s just admire the pastels in his outfit. I love how he played the light blue shirt off as a neutral and paired it with a bright, coral short. The color combo is a definite hint that summer is just around the corner.

Pairing a long sleeve button-down with shorts and Sperry’s was very strategic on his part. If the morning was brisk, he wouldn’t have even shivered like the many people in tank tops and T-shirts that I’ve seen this week.

His shades, belt and shoes all tie his look together with neutral browns. He played around with the color palette and mixed cool and darker browns together. This adds more interest to the outfit. And what look is complete without a watch? So classy.

One Simple Change: When those brisk morning get a little too unbearable, throw on a complementary brown faux leather jacket! Pick one that’s light enough to carry around, but adds an extra layer for when it gets chilly.
