It’s no secret that the weather in Madison has been a bit of a downer. After what seems like the most unpredictable fall whether to date (ahem, 30 degrees and rain mid-November?!), many of us are probably seriously questioning why we didn’t attend schools in California. Dread not, my fellow style lovers! Just because the weather is drab and sad, doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to follow suit. For me, when the weather is bringing me down I find solace scouring the sale racks at my favorite retailers. Shopping gives us respite from the less than agreeable Wisco weather. Seemingly, the weather coupled with the endless holiday deals coax us into our favorite stores and invite us to do what us Fashionista’s do best: shop.
I spotted this Fashionista donning the perfect shopping ensemble that combines both style with function on a chilly fall day. She begins her look with an orange floral, flirty dress that adds a pop of color on a dreary day. She pairs this with a beige pullover sweater to provide comfort with an added function of accessibility when it comes to quickly changing in the dressing room. She then adds a pair of black matte tights and teams her outfit with black suede booties. This Fashionista completes her outfit with a two-toned cross-body satchel and accessorizes with silver-accented bangles and black wayfarers.
If you would like to emulate this Fashionistas’ frock, the key is to piece together an outfit that is not only stylish but also provides comfort when meandering through countless stores. With a bold-printed dress or skirt and transitional sweater, you can add a pop of color and strut your stuff to stores in style.
One Simple Change: While this look is ideal for shopping, swap the sweater for a black blazer to make this outfit fit for a presentation.
