There’s not a lot of blustering snow days in the Classic City (save two years ago when a chance blizzard shut down classes the first week back) but that hardly puts an end to the fur-wearing Fashionistas traipsing around campus come January, which is why a fur vested outfit is the best fit for a shopping trip downtown.
This week’s Fashionista, found stalking around Athens in a rabbit fur vest, put together an ensemble perfect for the almost sixty degree temps while still maintaining the fluffy bundle-up look of locales much further north. She paired the vest, which is a vintage shop find, with a printed silk shirt (that I could have sworn was a member of the Gucci collection modeled by Charlotte Casiraghi), leggings, and buckled black booties.
One Simple Change
: The fur vest, which has made itself a winter staple in so many wardrobes for it’s versatility, is the key to bringing the outfit home, but only when the temperatures are chilly. When the weather starts to creep honestly toward the ’80s and ’90s, it’s probably better to swap out a fur vest for a jean or leather one instead when you plan on shopping outside. Try Madewell’s storm wash jean one
or the Michael Kors biker vest
to keep the texture mash-up between your layers fresh.
