WHAT TO WEAR: Shopping

What to Wear

Different people feel differently towards shopping. Some people think that it’s a hassle; others want to traipse around the mall for hours on end. Either way, you’re going to have a lot of eyes pass by you while shopping, so it’s a great way to show off style with a few quick cuts. The Fashionista above looks ready to run around the mall searching for sales all day. She’s a vision of blue.

Her earrings are really cute and unique. Dangly earrings can pair nicely with a lower-cut shirt that shows off your collarbone. The contrast works well. The shirt is striped white and light blue with white buttons lining down the middle. The two pockets add a nice sense of symmetry to the outfit. Having the sleeves rolled up can make a collared shirt seem more casual.

She shows off her fine legs with a pair of short shorts that peeks out from underneath her longer top. This elongates her legs, especially since she ends with a pair of blue leather ankle-length boots. Shorts and booties can definitely work on a fall or spring day. I really noticed the small wrinkle of the boots, which was an interesting flair to what otherwise would have been a plain pair of shoes. The theme of blue is pervasive throughout the outfit. Having the same color with different shades can work well for darker colors like blue and black.

One Simple Change: Swap out the shorts for a pair of leggings for something more formal like a brunch with friends.
