Thinking about taking a break from studying for a little retail therapy? No judgments here. In fact shopping is one of my favorite activities to get my mind off the stress of classes and homework. However, it can be difficult to figure out what to wear for a fun-filled day of shopping. There are the people that opt for the convenience of sweats for an easier way to try on outfits. Then, there are the people who like to dress to impress to feel their best. I know I go back and forth deciding between the options depending on what I’m shopping for or what type of day it is. Luckily there is a solution to this problem!
Even though shopping during the winter months can be challenging, follow this Fashionista for example. Since she was doing some shopping in downtown Bloomington, she bundled up in layers, but still maintained a convenient and simple outfit. She chose to wear skinny jeans with black combat boots and a black coat. Everything she is wearing is easy enough to take on and off while trying on different outfits.
This Fashionista also incorporated accessories with her look. She is wearing a pair of knit mittens, which are totally unique in the fact that they are not your normal store bought gloves. These matched her knit black, tan, and silver scarf as well giving the outfit a pop of contrast in colors. If you’re tired of carrying around a big purse when shopping, it is a good idea to use a wristlet like this Fashionista did. I believe that this can make your outfit look even more chic just by adding this accessory. Not to mention, her Ray Ban sunglasses are a must have if you are doing some shopping outdoors!
One Simple Change: To take this look from shopping to weekend wear, swap the coat for a comfortable sweater to keep you warm. You can also swap the scarf for a necklace or pendant of some sort to keep your style looking well put together.
