WHAT TO WEAR: School Spirit

What to Wear

While the constant snow may be putting on damper on your weekly plans, attending a school-sporting event is the perfect solution to bright up a day stuck on campus. The game may be inside, but finding an outfit that can be worn walking to the game and inside can be a little tricky. The following Fashionista proves that here at Marist, the Red Fox spirit is alive and well as snow and basketball descend upon us.

This Fashionista was spotted wearing a pair of jeans and a varsity jacket. I loved how her jacket was a throw back to the ones girls often were given to wear by their sweethearts in high school. The jacket gave the outfit a flirty, yet laid back vibe that’s perfect for cheering on your school team. She paired the jacket with several red and white accents, which are the colors of Marist College. First, the Fashionista sported an oversized red and white knit circle scarf perfect for braving the cold to walk over to the game. Try Gap for a great selection of warm scarfs that are often in the colors that match almost every university team.

Next, she wore a pair of red Hunter rain boots. Nothing is better for snow or rain then a pair of Hunter boots that are long lasting and you can buy cute liners to match. The Fashionista ended the outfit with a white Marist hat including the Red Fox logo. I liked that her hat was the only item bought at the college bookstore. She proved that you could dress in the spirit of your university without buying out the entire bookstore. Her outfit was spot on for a spring semester full of cheering on the home team. So next time there is a game, don’t let the excuse of cold weather keep you locked in your dorm or apartment.

One Simple Change: If you plan on working out before the game, swap the jeans for a cute pair of yoga pants and the Hunter boots for a pair of fun sneakers. After the workout throw on the varsity jacket, scarf and hat and it’s game time!
