Although lately “hail” seems to be found more so in our precipitation than the spirited songs of pride for our university, I can never resist a fun chant of “The Victors.” Whether it is in the Big House after a game-winning touchdown or in Chrysler Arena as the “Maize Rage” keeps everyone pumped, you can never go wrong with a classic school fight song. And while attending the University of Michigan—one of the top ranked public universities in the world—there should never be a reason to not spread some maize and blue pride. And when it comes down to it, sporting school spirit is a fun and easy way to add some “pep” to your daily routine. This Fashionista shows us how to incorporate some university pride into your everyday look.
She wears a plain gray University of Michigan crewneck sweater which she blouses over black high-waisted skinny jeans. The bold letters of her crewneck are simple, yet stylish. Sometimes spirited clothing says more with minimalism. And with the effortlessly chic addition of her high-waisted jeans, this Fashionista is able to transform her crewneck from a boring pajama staple to a stylish and comfortable wardrobe choice.
For some added school spirit, she used a yellow bandanna as a cute DIY headband. The bandanna helps add a pop of color to her ensemble, while also giving her spirited look some much needed maize. And it is super easy to take any colorful piece of fabric and turn it into a makeshift hair accessory.
Making school spirit part of your weekly wardrobe routine is a great way to help spread some school pride around your campus. And by pairing comfortable spirit wear with sleek closet staples, your school pride ensemble will be sure to get some double takes. Go Blue!
One Simple Change: In remembrance of Football Saturdays, for tailgates that take on a classier setting, try adding a collared chambray shirt underneath the crewneck and exchange the bandanna for a cute crystal headband (still in maize of course). Your look will instantly be parent-weekend-approved!
