WHAT TO WEAR: School Banquet

What to Wear

It’s winding down to the last few weeks of school and it’s time for the end of the year banquet. This is one of the final events before the end of the semester and you’ve been chosen to receive some sort of award. For this kind of recognition, no matter what it is, your attire should be nothing short of presentable.

The Fashionista featured does the perfect job of showing us what exactly presentable looks like. With her American Apparel tan button-down top paired with a J.Crew cardigan and a navy coat, she looks well put-together and just the right kind of dressy. Her black skinny Lord and Taylor dress pants with the DSW BCBG black flats keep the look neat and professional. Black is always an easy color to pull off for a look nice sort of event. Her accessories are minimal with just a Tiffany & Co. silver infinity necklace, but sometimes less is more and can ultimately keep the outfit simple.

At school banquets there are plenty of other types of typical appropriate outfits. For Fashionistas, flowy dresses and blazers like this one Forever 21 are a chic and cute option. However dresses can sometimes be iffy with length and showing straps, but with adding a blazer it turns the ensemble completely appropriate for the banquet event. For Fashionistos you can never go wrong with a simple tan khaki colored pant, like this pair from Banana Republic and a simple plaid button down like this one from American Eagle Outfitters. No matter the clothes you go with, the most important thing you need to factor in is presentability and appropriateness and once you’ve mastered these two you’re definitely ready for that school banquet.

One Simple Change: By swapping out this Fashionista’s black Lord and Taylor pants for a cute black skater skirt, you’ve turned the outfit into a great WHAT TO WEAR to a summer internship look instead.
