Although my friends and family back home in New York mock me and make fun of me when I complain about the Austin weather, Texas has been no ray of sunshine (literally) this winter. I think I can vouch for the other fifty thousand students that the inconsistent weather is starting to get the best of us. With one day being eighty degrees and the next day being thirty, my summer clothes and winter clothes have been fighting for space in my closet and are starting to take over my entire room.
That being said, spending my spring break in New York City, I thought things would be different. Usually the weather in New York through April is nothing more than plain cold. Well, global climate change is certainly showing its colors after being sixty degrees one day, and the next day the skies opening up and down pouring on the streets of NYC.
So, it looks like crazy weather is everywhere, which is why it is time to crack down on the best way to take on mother earth! I caught this Fashionista on her way to some interviews caught in the middle of the rain. The cold couldn’t hold her inner Fashionista back, so she worked around her amazing fur coat. She looked straight off the Fendi runway! Her sleek leather over-the-knee boots completed the all black NYC street look. With a statement coat like this one, any Fashionista can turn her rainy sidewalk into her fashion runway.
One Simple Change: Already put your winter clothes in the attic? Swap your fabulous coat out for a lighter one. Try an oversized cardigan or light sweater to keep you shielded from the unexpected April showers. Maybe if we start to dress for warm weather, the skies will follow our lead!
