WHAT TO WEAR: Rainy Days

January 27th, 2017 at 2:07am

Rainy days are probably one of the hardest weathers to dress for. All you want to do is crawl into a fetal position on your bed with fuzzy socks and a huge blanket.

If you live in Riverside, California and totally get me when I say you’ve probably sweated your entire existence in the heat, then you know that it’s very common to forget how to dress in cold, wet weather. On the rare occasions where it does rain on campus, here is an example of an outfit that will keep you comfy, cozy, and especially classy.

This Fashionista is rocking a dark, olive green sweater with an extremely soft, crushed velvet texture. Crushed velvet pieces are made with the material mohair and wool that come from goats and sheep. This is why it feels so ridiculously soft and amazing to snuggle in. Much like the blanket you didn’t’ want to get out of in the morning, wearing soft textured sweaters like this will definitely keep you warm.

Nothing is worse than wearing jeans on a rainy day, so she paired this sweater with black jeggings from Zara. If you want comfort but don’t want to wear leggings, jeggings are the way to go. Since you’re going to be walking through puddles and wet concrete, I highly recommend staying away from suede shoes. Keep your feet and socks dry by wearing patent leather shoes. This Fashionista wore black patent leather oxfords from Zara and the shiny finish gives this outfit a sense of class and sophistication. To top it all off, this Burberry scarf is the pop of fashion and personality that this dark color palette needs. She wore a red lip to bring out the red accents of the scarf and carried a vintage Coach mini backpack.

You don’t always have to sacrifice style for comfort. So stay comfy, cozy, and especially classy Fashionista/os.
