Styling the perfect rainy day outfit can be difficult, especially when you are dealing with terrible humidity. Things can get bulky, dull and uncomfortable way too fast. It can be frustrating for someone to change their wardrobe to combat this weather, but for a Fashionista this can mean a challenge to play with more styles. For a spring shower, focusing on fashionable shoes, accessories and coats is the way to go. This Fashionista took the opportunity of the slight chance of rain to create her outfit, not take away from it.
I know what you are thinking and I somewhat agree: wearing a knee length jacket in South Carolina is crazy. I once believed wearing a knee length trench coat it would be completely impractical for a 70-degree day with a chance of rain, but when I got closer I realized the extremely light nylon material was perfect for a quick temperature change. This Fashionista searched long and hard for the perfect trench coat to accompany her this summer while she roams NYC as an intern for a public relations firm, and she found it.
Though I believe the beauty of her trench coat could allow me to talk about it for the entire post, I must refrain and the show must go on. I love her dress because what may look like a little black dress is actually much more. With detailed horizontal stripes, this short-sleeved baby doll dress changed the idea of the usual little black dress into something truly unique.
Her trench coat looks amazing with a pair of color-blocked heels that match perfectly. Not only are they the perfect matching colors, with the ankle strap she will have more support while strutting her stuff around campus and running errands as an intern in NYC in the city.
I think it is commendable that this future New Yorker took the slight chance of rain on the weather channel as advice to her wardrobe choice and didn’t run from it. She actually managed to create an adorable outfit from the forecast.
One Simple Change: If the forecast is looking more like a thunderstorm rather than a light shower, wear a pair of jeans and cute Hunter rain boots under your trench coat. A pair of glossy red rain boots is always my favorite choice!
