WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

What to Wear

There comes a day when a professor asks you to present and doesn’t require a specific dress. If your like most students and don’t want to walk around in a suit to all of your class, most of us will opt-out for the more business formal attire. But there are ways to show you’ve out effort into your dress with a casual outfit.

This Fashionista transformed a classic outfit combination by choosing a top with trendy elbow patches with a twist. The sequined elbow patches are unique and subtle enough to add a dash of sparkle to her outfit.

The color palate of green from the jacket, cream from the top and blue from her dark wash boot cut jeans is a good transition into the new season. The temperatures are still pretty chilly during the day so adding bright peacoat is a perfect wardrobe staple.

The clean colors, lacking in bright, or heavily patterned distracting fabrics, her outfit is perfect for giving a presentation where business professional isn’t required. The muted gold jewelry accents the cream top without overshadowing the sequined gold elbow patches.

Here in the South it never difficult to find a well made cowboy boot. This Fashionista demonstrate a great way to wear boots with jeans rather than with the typical dress, skirt or shorts. The heel of the boots and the dark wash of the jeans are slimming on any body type.

One Simple Change: To bring this outfit to the weekend, I would lose the jacket and pair the top and jeans with a cute sandal like these with gold and braided detail from Francesca’s, and replace the long gold necklace for a subtler gold piece like this light chain collar from Nordstrom.
