WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

Attention all Fashionistos! Do you ever find yourself having trouble deciding what to wear for a casual class presentation where you want to look your best, but also not overdo it? Look no further because this Fashionisto has all the tips and tricks you need to bring that “wow” factor to your presentation without going overboard. If you’re trying to dress to impress, we have you covered with a very few basic steps to always look your best!

The most important piece would have to be a classic collared button-up. This alone is the first and most important step to looking professional and well put together. Try finding a shirt with a stiffer collar as a flimsy collar can easily crumple, fall and make your outfit appear a bit sloppy. Layering is never a wrong step to take when dressing up for any occasion. It adds more pizzazz and dimension to your look rather than leaving it at a flat and plain shirt. When choosing the colors to layer, it is important to choose a complement color just as this Fashionisto has chosen to utilize different shades of blue with his sweater on top and underneath shirt. Too many contrasting colors may make the outfit appear a bit tacky, so we definitely want to try to avoid that! Classic black pants are always safe as they will always match the rest of your clothing pieces without a doubt. Since we’re dressing for a more casual event, dress pants are not needed. A nice pair of clean and good conditioned jeans helps prevent from crossing over to the complete formal wear. Again, dress shoes are not needed for a casual event, so any pair of clean black shoes will do the trick.
A few tips from the Fashionisto himself are to always make sure to iron out any wrinkles or creases in your pants and shirts regardless of whether or not it is a formal or casual event. Also, be sure to brush up and tidy whatever shoes you decide to wear before the event as clean and polished shoes complete the whole look.
One Simple Change: Now that you nailed your presentation, you deserve to go out for a nice dinner celebration. Try exchanging your school sneakers into something more dressy appropriate for the night or swapping out the sweater for a blazer for a more sophisticated look.
