WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

Whether you like it or not, summer is coming to a close and although that means losing some afternoons by the pool, it also means the dreaded summer school classes are almost over as well. Congrats for sticking with it! These final weeks may boil down to finals, projects or in this case, presentations.

For some presentations, you may be instructed to wear business professional or business casual attire. But, if you’re not, it is still important to look polished for your show and tell. More conservative clothing with subtle jewelry is a good idea because they won’t distract your audience from the ideas that you are sharing. Jingling bracelets, although they may be cute, can just be disrupting to your hard work.

If you’re looking for a casual, yet put together presentation outfit, check out this Fashionista! She starts with a printed black and white maxi dress and layers it with a white cardigan, which is a great ensemble for a presentation because it’s got you covered (pun intended) and the color scheme is foolproof. She keeps accessories to a minimum and wears simple studded earrings and a nose ring. I loved her sandals because they have edgy zipper teeth around the base of the shoe, but it’s still subtle enough to wear with almost any outfit.

When it comes to presenting or publicly speaking, it is important to “dress for success” and wear something that makes you confident. Whether it’s a business professional suit, business casual outfit or a casual one like the one above, make sure you’re feeling good about yourself and your project and you’ll be good to go!
