Unless you’re one of those pesky overachievers taking summer school or doing an internship, summer is nothing but days on end spent with your besties. While hanging out with your friends is no dressing to meet the Queen, it’s still nice to look good.
Despite being smack-dab in the middle of summer, Vancouver seems to be going through a rainy patch. I spotted this Fashionista whose outfit is not only weather-appropriate, but also perfect for any outing with friends.
This Fashionista does casual spot-on with her rolled-up sleeves and a beanie. A beanie has so many functions—not only is it a fun addition to any outfit, it keeps hair in place on a windy day and perhaps more importantly, it conceals what you don’t want seen on those bad hair days. A beanie is also a godsend when a self-administered bangs trim goes terribly wrong (side note: don’t ever cut your own bangs).
For when you’re just itching to break out the shorts and get into the summer spirit but can’t because it’s cold and rainy, do what this Fashionista did and don the shorts plus tights combo. She chose high-waisted denim shorts for some ’90s flair.
Her shoulder bag gives the outfit some color and keeps her hands free. I love how her jewelry is kept to a minimum but cohesively adds to her outfit. She stacked bracelets on one wrist, slipped a cross ring on the other hand and wore a pendant necklace.
One Simple Change: Forgo the tights, tie the plaid shirt around your waist and swap out the beanie for a floppy hat for a festival-ready outfit!
