WHAT TO WEAR: Out With Friends

What to Wear

Since finals are winding down and summer is coming up, there’s a certain atmosphere spanning the campus that’s 1/3 relaxation, 1/3 excitement and 1/3 pure joy. It truly feels like a weight has been lifted off all the shoulders of us hard-working students, and what better way celebrate this wonderful feeling than by going out with friends for a final hurrah? If you and your friends are eager to get together before school officially lets out, go ahead and welcome the warm weather by adding a refreshing splash of summer color to your look, just as this Fashionista did.

When I spotted this Fashionista walking about campus on a warm day, I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous aquamarine color of her jumpsuit. She added an extra dimension to the outfit by layering over a lightweight kimono-style cover-up. To finish off the outfit she added in a pair of black strappy flats, a tan purse and statement earrings. The overall look gave off a fresh summer vibe that perfectly balanced laid-back silhouettes with exciting elements like a bold pattern and a bright color.

One of the reasons why this outfit works so well for a night out with friends is because it can be worn nearly anywhere. If you start your night out with friends by going out to eat at a nice restaurant and finish it by hanging out at a casual party, the outfit can go from place to place and still look completely appropriate no matter what. It allows for you and your friends to be as spontaneous as you want to be which is probably much needed after having to deal with never-ending schedules and deadlines all semester. Also, since we’re in the early stages of warm weather, the nights can still get really chilly. This outfit channels a summer feel, but the cardigan and jumpsuit allow for you to stay warm when needed.

Hopefully the semester is finally finishing up for all of you, and if it is, I completely encourage you to go out with your friends as a reward for all of your hard work this semester. If you do, be sure to take some inspiration from this Fashionista’s easy going and warm-weather-ready look.

One Simple Change: Whether it’s a music festival or an arts festival, summer is always full of fun festivals to attend. This bright look will still work perfectly for one, just take off the cover-up to avoid getting too warm outside.
