Going out with friends is one of the greatest pleasures life has to offer. It is a chance to kick back and relax, laugh and forget about all of the assignments that are due in the near future. Whether it is out to dinner or getting together to watch a movie, our friends shape our time in college. While we may feel comfortable enough to chill with them in our sweats and a 10-year-old sweater passed down from our older brother, it is never a bad idea to go casual chic just like this Fashionista.
Some people might think that military style clothing is just for the fall season. This Fashionista begs to differ. Her army jacket is light enough that it transitions well into the spring. It’s all about what you pair it with. Her burnt orange top is the perfect connection from winter to spring. Plus, it’s comfortable enough to wear bowling or for the first barbecue of the season.
As unusual as it sounds, my favorite part of her outfit are her ripped jeans. They add personality. A little bit of destressing never hurt anyone. True, you wouldn’t want to wear these jeans when meeting your significant other’s parents, but they’re the perfect choice when you’re hanging with your best friends. She tops it off well with small accessories: a skinny brown belt, medium gold hoops and cheetah print Sperry Top-Siders.
When out with friends, the most important ideal to stick by is to keep it comfortable and functional. What might start out as a trip to the local pizza parlor can turn into a heated battle of laser tag in a moment’s notice. Make sure your outfit is just as ready for improvisation as you are.
One Simple Change: Switch the jeans for a white lace mini skirt and slip on a pair of slouchy booties for a perfect festival outfit. Bonus points if you can pull off a flower crown.
