What constitutes a good pair of jeans? My dad always seems to think he has the answer because, of course, dads always know best. When I go home for breaks, my dad and I usually get in the same silly argument before he heads off to work and it goes a little something like this:
He is making my coffee just the way I like it (two creams, two sugars) and points out that he “bought these jeans, four of ‘em, for $79!” to show the difference in the price of his and mine. This past break we walked into a Target store and he pointed out again, “This is where I got my jeans!” And for him, for a day when he’s heading to a dirty power plant instead of the office, that’s great, but obviously that’s not necessarily the type of place some of us are heading in our jeans. So my question still stands: ”What constitutes a good pair of jeans?”
My answer is simple: A ‘good’ pair of jeans are whichever ones that work for you. There are endless options these days so everyone should be able to find a ‘good’ pair of jeans for themselves. Although it’s great to have choices, it can be baffling at times. If you don’t have a boyfriend, can you wear still wear ‘boyfriend’ jeans? If my waist is naturally low, should I not wear high-waisted jeans? Is it okay to wear ‘skinny’ jeans if maybe you’re not so skinny? Okay, I’m sort of kidding, but being a Fashionista and having worked with Lucky Brand Jeans, there are several things to think about when it comes to which jeans are best for You. Things to seriously consider when choosing a good pair of jeans are the basics: wash, fit and material.
For this Fashionisto, a good pair of jeans are comfortable and fashionable; a dark wash with a straight leg that is a borderline “skinny” leg is right up his alley. He advises men to try the tried and true Levi’s and says he “normally heads to Nordstrom or Macy’s because they have a big selection of sizes and washes of Levi Brand Jeans.” His jeans paired with his original lace-up Clarks and a Ralph Lauren Polo long sleeve shirt completes a perfect ensemble to go out with his friends.
So whether you are a Levi Brand Jeans guy or prefer a high-end designer jean, choose the jeans with the right wash, fit and material for You. Finding a ‘good’ pair of jeans means finding a pairs that works for You!
One Simple Change: If you are heading out for dinner, put on a classic sports jacket with your jeans for a more polished look.
