With summer classes starting up, it is time to find the perfect study spot. In New York, we have very long winters so when summer comes we definitely embrace it by not staying cooped up in the library all day. At the University at Albany, our favorite places include the fountains and Collins Circle. They are all buzzing with people on nice days. With such a busy hangout spot, it is essential for every Fashionista/o to look their best and dress to impress before the summer season ends and we all hurry back into hiding.
I spotted this Fashionista on campus rocking a perfect outfit on the quad; whether she was studying or just hanging out with friends. Her black jersey maxi skirt is great for everyday wear because it can keep you warm in air conditioning but it isn’t too heavy to wear outside. She keeps the outfit simple with a crisp white tank top and adds some classic Rainbow shoes for comfortable all day wear.
The color scheme she chose was perfect to let the jewelry do the talking. It creates a clean canvas for this Fashionista to choose any type of jewelry. Her necklace was what really caught my eye. Statement necklaces like this one from Nordstrom are very popular and are a great, unique way to spice up an outfit. The turquoise beading created the perfect amount of pop without going overboard. Since we’re all on the quad during the day, it is key not to go overboard. Simple outfits and fun pieces are the best way to go and this Fashionista had the right idea.
One Simple Change: When it gets a bit chilly at night, add a jean jacket and switch out the flip flops for a cute pair of Converse that match the necklace. It will take the outfit from simple and girly, to fresh and edgy.
