One of my favorite spots to find stylish students is on the quad. This is usually a place where students hang out with their friends or sit alone and get some work done. There is always a particular time in the day when there are tons of students walking around and that is when I usually see who can stand out against the crowd. That is when I saw this Fashionista wearing a vintage and western inspired ensemble. This is a major reflection of her personal style and I felt it would be great to replicate.
To get this look, start with a felt floppy hat. These were definitely a fall essential that can easily be worn during spring. Next, wear a black dress that is longer in length and also has long sleeves. It is best if the dress is a solid color in order to wear a belt at the waist. I love how her belt has a great vintage feel with a gold pendant at the front. This Fashionista wore tights because of the major winds we have been experiencing here which then flows nicely to a mid-length boot. Her boots complement her hat which ties to the whole outfit together. Oh, and don’t forget to add a red lip for a pop of color.
This outfit definitely stood out from the crowd and I appreciated how she used strong individual pieces to create a uniformed look. I am totally inspired to try something new and step out of my comfort zone.
One Simple Change: This look would be great for a festival by switching the boots for a gladiator sandal.
