What to Wear

Classes are now back in full swing, which means time to stress about deadlines and midterms, and counting down the days until spring break. Down south, the weather is playing tricks. One day it is snowing and the next day it is 80 degrees outside. It is hard to find the motivation and the inspiration to want to put clothes on and look fashionable for class. The semester has been in for only three weeks so there is still hope to go to that 8 a.m. class and walk in and say “I woke up like this.” I believe that every Fashionista and Fashionisto should channel their inner Beyoncé.

I spotted this Fashionista hanging in the cafeteria chatting it up with friends, her style caught my eye and I had to stop her. Her look exudes the fashion trend of ’90s tomboy look. She kept her accessories minimal and just let the outfit to  speak for itself. She paired Nike sneakers with camo pants and, my favorite, the baseball jersey which gives the outfit that extra edge. It reminds me of something Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez would wear during her TLC days. She finished off her outfit with a simple gold curb necklace.

This Fashionista layered her look with a simple white long sleeve shirt for added warmth. Mother nature sometimes has these mood swings where she will like for it to be warm in the morning and then cold by noon. Being prepared for that unexpected cold front is easy, just layer or bring a cute sweater to lunch and you will be prepared for the chill.

One Simple Change: To take this look from lunch time attire to meeting with boyfriend for a romantic dinner, swap out the sneakers for a pair of platform heels. It will take away that tomboy vibe and give it more of an edgy yet sporty vibe. Think Rihanna meets Miroslava Duma, perfect combo!
