In the stereotypical college movie the quad is always the focal point of student life; the hub of any activity that is remotely of value to the students who teem across it daily. While our quad isn’t always filled with random guys throwing a Frisbee or students petitioning against important social rights issues it is definitely always bustling. On sunny days you can see girls getting their tan on and every Friday there is a festival of food and live music on the main quad for students to end their week with.
Quad-wear, however, is another story. While enjoying the live music and free food put on by student affairs every Friday, it’s important to look cute but not like you’re trying too hard. Quad-wear is casual and trendy, yet still suitable to lay out in the grass in.
This Fashionista has that look down. Her free-flowing burgundy skirt is playful and flirty, contrasting with her brown combat boots, which give the look more edge, a la something you would see off the Brandy Melville website. Her black tank and neutral sweater tie the look in altogether and allow her to look trendy but not fussy. Her oversized sunglasses are a nod to a more retro inspired frame with a modern touch, making them more unique from the typical retro styles that multiply our campus.
Her outfit is fun, playful yet not too much of a good thing. It is the perfect ensemble to chill out in on a perfect Friday afternoon, while listening to a variety of live New Orleans bands jam out.
One Simple Change: Planning to hit the Friday happy hour after? Loose the sweater and put on a tighter American Apparel black long-sleeve shirt paired with black booties and you’re all set!
