Professors make me nervous. No matter how well I know my instructor, there is always the little twinge of anxiety when we have a meeting, even if it’s only to discuss class readings. For several years my mantra has been, “When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you do good,” and it proves true once again in this situation. A meeting with a professor is a time to feel professional, yet relaxed, so you can get to the point and get back to your busy day. Rolling out of bed and meeting in yoga pants and a tee shirt may be tempting, but there is a better way that will impress even the toughest teacher.
This Fashionista was spotted on the way out of her professor’s office building. Judging by her confident smile it went well, and I would give partial credit to her adorable outfit. The look is casual and comfortable (my favorite quality), without looking sloppy. My favorite part of this outfit are her Vineyard Vines shorts in bright pink. I love how they work for the very end of summer. Her grey striped top balances the shorts with sleeves and complements the bright hue nicely without being overbearing. I also adore the shoulder sequins on the shirt.
Accessories keep this outfit anything but boring. Jack Roger sandals are the perfect addition for the last of the warm weather. Her watch and David Yurman bracelet bring black and brown into the mix and add dimension to the look. To top off the look, she adds a gorgeous North Carolina outline necklace in gold. The end result is a comfortable and classy look that’s appropriate for meeting a professor, then heading to lunch with the girls.
One Simple Change: This look could easily transition into a dinner date outfit. Add a navy blazer to keep chilly nights at bay and swap in some wedges for an easy yet chic look.
