WHAT TO WEAR: Library

Fall is quickly approaching, and it will soon be time to dust off our favorite booties and oversized sweaters.. Autumn colors, pumpkin flavored coffee drinks and falling leaves are calling our names. However in places like Iowa, where the weather is notoriously unpredictable, students have to learn to mix and match summer pieces with new items for fall. The not too hot, not too cold weather makes daytime outfits even harder to choose than clothes for going out at night. I, like many others at the University of Iowa, constantly find myself having to check the weather before going to class or the library. Pants and a T-shirt or shorts and a sweater are almost always my go-to options for a study session at the library.

One of my favorite Fashionistos threw together a picture-perfect ensemble before heading to the library to finish up an article for the university newspaper.  He chose to wear a pair of army-green, slim-fit pants that are perfect for the upcoming season and can be paired with a variety of colors. He then incorporated a red, white and blue bleached-denim T-shirt, which also has a militaristic feel, to transform himself into a casual yet cool, all-American dude.

To accent the main pieces, he laced up a classic pair of black Nike Roshes, which are an absolute staple for any wardrobe. You can never go wrong with a pair of tennis shoes that are both comfy and easy to pair with outfits for multiple occasions. A matching black and gray backpack from Urban Outfitters was thrown over his shoulder as well.

This Fashionisto topped off the casual street-wear look while repping his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, with a traditional hat. Not only does the curved, Cubs cap add a little flavor to the outfit, it also follows the same mixed color scheme as the collared shirt.

One Simple Change: Ditch the backpack and baseball hat, and switch the shoes out for a pair of camouflage-designed Vans, and you’ll have a RAD look for nighttime!
