WHAT TO WEAR: Interviews

The start to the spring semester is almost here so now is the time when we are applying for internships or jobs starting in the summer. Wearing the perfect outfit on an interview is crucial in making a lasting impression so dressing fashionable and appropriate for an interview can be stressful. It is still cold in the Northeast, so it’s important to remain comfortable and warm while still looking professional. The chilly temperatures in Rhode Island call for layering shirts and sweaters to stay warm.

This Fashionisto is wearing a classic black V-neck sweater which will look great on any guy during the colder months because they are so versatile. To add a pop of pattern, he is layering a white and gray plaid button-up shirt under the sweater. A nice pair of gray cotton pants should be a staple in a Fashionisto’s wardrobe because they can be dressed up for a more formal or professional occasion or dressed down for a casual daytime outfit. In this case, the gray pants are being dressed up with black desert boots from Clarks. To add to the monochromatic theme, a plain gray tie is tucked under the button down shirt and sweater to further add to the professional interview appropriate look. A great accessory to this ensemble is a matte black Michael Kors watch which looks great against the black sweater and gray pants.

One Simple Change: Want to dress down the outfit and make it more casual? Taking off the tie and dress shirt will eliminate the dressy element of this outfit and will make it more appropriate for daytime or for hanging out with friends.
